OJON

My hair is very depressed. It's frizzy and dry and split ends everywhere, etc... So I bid and won some OJON cream to help get rid of some of that damage.
I tried it last night and it worked a little too well. Left my hair greasy after shampoo and blowdry so I had to take another shower this morning to wash out the remainder. And now my hair is very happy.

Because I'm sick and tired of Macy's always being out of stock

I just broke down and ordered this from eBay. I have sworn off Clinique.com after a terrible experience, so if this works out it may be all eBay all the way, baby.

Good Music Cheap

I bought a copy of this early Rilo Kiley CD (from Newbury Comics no less -- wish I could still shop there in person) to help me complete a piece I was writing.

Because I am nice to my husband

1. I allowed him to purchase an iPod nano, when we have a perfectly good iPod mini.

2. I got this nano case off eBay for his new nano. It was really cheap; the shipping cost more than the item.

Boring, Yet Exciting

This may be the most boring thing I have ever bought on eBay. The reason it is so exciting is that it normally costs $135 but I won the auction for $0.99 with $3.99 shipping.* This CD-ROM contains professional child development assessments.

*In theory, I bought this item. I just had to contact the seller to ask when it was going to ship.

AZIZA BOOTS

It's almost boot season girls! I've been in the market for a new black pair of flat boots that can be for work or play, and spotted these Kate Spade's on Ebay yesterday. I just HAD to have them! In the real world of Bloomingdales thet run for about 300-450, but on Ebay I snatched them up for $93.

I cannot wait to strut my stuff in them!

tankini

I am planning to go to Miami for my big 3-0 with some mates and am in need of a new swimsuit. I went to many a stores with picked over swimsuits and all I found were tops for big boobs and bottoms for small asses. Too bad my body is shaped the complete opposite!

I bought this suit on Ebay for about $27 bucks. Not bad for a brand new Roxy swimsuit. The tankini is perfect for my trip - I am still too shy(and outta shape!) for a full-on bikini and last time I went to Miami and wore a one-piece I felt like a total black sheep at the beach. Everyone and their grandmas were in bikinis.

Now only if I could find something to magically get rid of my cellulite...

The weather is driving me crazy

So it was like 60 degrees in NYC last weekend. Beautiful, sunny, warm. It felt like spring was here. Today it feels like minus whatever with the wind chill, and I had to walk 5 avenues in a skirt to work because the cabbie was way too slow. NOT a happy camper.

I bought this Anna Sui T-shirt when the weather had fooled me. I was hoping to rock it soon, but who knows...?

Don't you people bid on EBAY anymore?

This blog has been at a stand still for way too long, so I felt the need to bid bid bid!

And, I was in the market for a new charmy necklace.

Vivenne Westwood, although I have doubt it's real.

Free People

Who was it that blogged about Free People clothing on ebay? I used to shop fro Free People clothing all the time on Elmwood Avenue in downtown Buffalo when I was in high school. There was this store that I loved but was usually too poor to afford on my busgirl at the Italian cafe salary. Well anyways, reading about Free People reminded of how much I used to love the clothing line, and so I too went on ebay in seach of Free People stuff....

and won this cute black Free people dress.

Companion for Groovy Girl

I think Lucy will enjoy the doll more if she has something to go with it, so I bought her this horse.

It's almost Birthday season...

My kids have their birthdays in March, two weeks apart, and I have to start shopping early or I will be totally unprepared. This is for my daughter, who is turning three, but I have to confess that I will enjoy it as much as she will.

Groovy Girls, you are so much cuter and stylish than all those other dolls. I can't help trying to establish a little brand loyalty early on, can I?

Plus this was my first experience with eBay express. It was easy. Maybe a little too easy...

Polka Dot Belt

I discovered Hadley Pollet belts completely by accident and now I am addicted to finding them for less than the standard $98 price tag.

The seller listed this as having cherry red polka dots, but she must be color blind because they are completely pumpkin colored which was fine with me. But she had better watch out -- most women don't want to buy an orange belt when they think they are buying a red one.

I should mention that I love the belt, and I am wearing it even as I am posting this!

Clutch

Yes, yes. Even more of the Kate Spade Fleur print. I have this print in the FE Tote and Heddy makeup case. I used to have the kitten-heeled mules but had to sell them back on eBay since my feet became mysteriously enormous.

My plan is to snip off the leather shoulder strap and use it as a clutch. It's a beautiful spring pattern, and will look great if spring does come this year.

Yes, I have purchased another Kate Spade handbag

This is a vintage fall 2001 Kate Spade tote with a red, gray, black and white plaid wool exterior. The lining is a beautiful orange-red silk faille fabric. Leather handles, almost new condition. The seller advertised it as a gift from her ex-husband, and she was dumping a bunch of stuff from the jerk. Who was I to not help her out? Especially when I got it for the unbelieveable price of $51.95.

Do you think I have enough Kate Spade bags? Be ye not so foolish, and check out tomorrow's post.

Another el cheapo vintage coat

So I bought another vintage coat on ebay. This one is just yer average pea coat, but it was only $8, and the previous owner claims it was never worn. Whatever. The drycleaning bill will still cost more than the coat. It is labeled a size 12 - which is hilarious because it is definitely an old school 1962 size 12. All things considered, I have no complaints.

eBay is great for Christmas shopping for my dad!!

This book is rare, out of print, and available apparently only in London.

Where they charge you a hundred pounds to ship a 3 lb, 8 oz book to the States.

Kate Spade Loafers

I was the high bidder on these adorable shoes about 6 weeks ago. They're a 9.5, Kate Spade, leather with a teensey weensey heel. Practically flat. I wore them a few times, love them, but the little design thing on the top fell off one of the shoes. Upon closer expection, I can see that it was GLUED on, and the seller must have LIED to me when she said she only WORE THEM ONCE. Loser.

I got some Gorilla Glue and glued it back on and hopefully it will stick. I paid $30 for the shoes and $10 shipping.

Substance...

I was listening to New Order on the train this morning on my way to work and got inspired to go searching for this.

I hope it fits!

Boots

There has been quite a bit of talk about boots among my friends lately, and I realized how much I loved them, but how much I disliked paying for them. I thought this pair was exceptionally cute, and I would normally always draw the line at buying used shoes, but I think they were worn like once. They are way cuter than the picture, and if I wasn't quite so lazy I would re-photograph them.

Vintage Coat

I bought this after getting a head's up about Eskimo Coats on http://thefray.typepad.com/ -- my new favorite fashion blog, which I discovered after its author kindly left our humble shopping blog a comment. You gotta check it out, she just mentioned the Preppy Handbook too!

This is due to arrive any day now. I hope it is cute in real life, and I get a chance to wear it, considering it has been a real global warming winter so far.

For my new job that underpays

Today I bid on and won a couple of almost new suit jackets. I can't afford to buy them new, so I bought them on ebay. One is Ann Taylor and the other Anne Klein. I hope they fit!

Lollipop Tree

My husband and son have an ongoing series of made up bed time stories that focus on a farmer and his tree. The tree is special, and produces, you guessed it, Lollipops. We fashioned a crude one out of a paper towel tube, a plastic drinking cup, and construction paper. We decided it was time to upgrade. Also, those aren't my lollipops. Somehow they look a little sordid in the picture

Smaller Le Sportsac Bag

I bought another Le Sportsac purse on ebay. It was really cheap ($8.50), and I wanted a smaller bag for that great day when I no longer carry diapers, or the rare occasion when I am headed out and I definitely don't want to be carrying diapers. I have always liked this pattern. Again, it is no Kate Spade, but I like to be able to machine wash my purses.

Kate Spade iPod case

Peter won't mind this one too much.

It was a dollar. Plus $5.99 shipping.

Thomas the Train costume. What - you're surprised?

He looks somewhat happy here, but he had a shitfit just moments later.

Cost: $6.99 plus $6.95 shipping. Ahh, another 14 bucks down the drain. Although I may be able to re-sell it next year. Along with the costume from last year that he refused to wear. Damn.
